Arrival Guide

Students planning to use campus WIFI should follow the instructions provided by Information Technology to register their electronic devices.  Information regarding Micro-Fridge rentals, cable and laundry service is available from our webpage.

As part of the check in process you will be asked to provide emergency medical and contact information. This information is only used in the event you need medical treatment. Please gather your health insurance information before you begin.

Prior to arrival, all students must provide verification of immunization against meningitis or a request for exemption due to medical or religious reasons. Evidence of your meningococcal vaccine, or exemption, must be on file prior to the first Friday of classes, see http://semo.edu/residencelife/faq/immunization.html for more information. You have four options: scan and email to residencelife@semo.edu; fax to 573-651-2557; mail to Office of Residence Life One University Plaza - MS 0055 Cape Girardeau, MO 63701; or deliver in person to our office in Towers Complex across from Rowdy’s. All residence hall keys are available for pick up from the Student Recreation Center - North. You must present your student ID to obtain your key.

New students receive a move-in guide with specific information regarding regular check in and available desk hours.  All students arriving prior to Sunday may pick up their keys at the Towers Customer Service Desk. Beginning Sunday, keys will be at your assigned residence hall. Spring Move in Guide

All summer school students must first complete a contract for housing and have an assignment to check into summer school housing. All students moving into the residence hall must pre-check-in. Prior to arrival, all students must provide verification of immunization against meningitis or a request for medical or religious reasons if you will remain in the residence halls for the Fall semester. If you do not submit a copy of your immunization or request for exemption before arrival, you must provide this before a key is issued.

Students requiring housing prior to the start of the summer session must provide Residence Life advance notice. Key pick up for summer school residents is from the service desk of the designated residence hall.

Summer Move-in Guide

All students moving into the residence halls prior to official move-in dates must register for Early Arrival from the housing portal. Students requiring housing prior to the start of the semester must provide Residence Life advance notice. While this service is available to students, it is not free of charge. The nightly fee for early arrival is $25. Students arriving early to participate in a University sponsored / required event are charged for days in advance of the recommended arrival date provided by the sponsoring University department. If your name does not appear on the list provided by the department, you will be charged the full amount. All residence hall keys are available from the Towers Customer Service Desk. You must present your student ID or other valid form of identification, to pick up your key.
