The business programs offered by the Donald L. Harrison College of Business are accredited by AACSB-International, the premier accrediting body for programs in business. Specifying specific learning goals is a requirement for accreditation, as is the measurement of student achievement against these goals.

The faculty of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business has identified five primary learning goals for Harrison Business students:

Advanced knowledge of management.

  1. Use and apply management related terms, concepts, theories and principles.

Development of middle and upper level leadership skills for use in diverse environments.

  1. Demonstrate understanding of individual leadership styles.

Critical thinking skills in solving ethical dilemmas.

  1. Apply management skills to resolve problem(s) with justification based on ethical principles, management understanding, and professional judgment.

Understanding of group and individual dynamics in organizations.

  1. Apply management related principles to address issues in group and individual motivation and performance.

Understanding of human resource practices and processes.

  1. Apply human resource principles in support of organizational performance.
