  • Registration for 2015-2016 Parking Permits Opens July 8

    parking resizedCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., July 1, 2015 — Southeast Missouri State University students may begin registering for 2015-2016 preferred, perimeter and evening parking permits beginning July 8 with a lottery system based on student seniority to determine distribution of the preferred decals.

    Registration for 2015-2016 parking permits will open at 8 a.m. July 8.  At that time, students may apply online at http://portal.semo.edu, or they may complete a paper application that is included in the University’s billing packet.  The packet will be mailed to students on or about July 8.  Completed paper applications will be accepted by mail or in person at the Cashier’s Office in Academic Hall....

    Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, July 6. Classes on the main Southeast campus in Cape Girardeau will resume on Tuesday, July 7. Classes on the regional campuses in Kennett, Malden and Sikeston, Missouri, will resume on Monday, July 6....

  • Southeast Students Share Summer Days With Special Needs Children at Camp Connect

    Camp Connect2CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 25, 2015 – A group of Southeast Missouri State University students are serving as counselors at Camp Connect this summer, a three-week event for children with autism to improve their social and communication skills.

    Based at Southeast’s Autism Center for Diagnosis and Treatment, a typical camp day finds excitement buzzing in the air as children with autism at the camp create flower pots, T-shirts, picture frames and other crafts with their neurotypical peers. Other children play videogames on the Xbox 360 and Wii. Others head out and play on the playground. At each child’s side is a Southeast student pursuing a certificate or minor in Autism Studies. Amanda Bomar of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Heather Roe of Advance, Missouri, and Katie Spradling of Desloge, Missouri, along with their fellow classmates, are camp counselors....
